Right Honourable President Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari has invited members of the House of Representatives according to the Article 76(2) of the Constitution of Nepal 2015 to present evidence of their ability to command vote of confidence of the House of the Representatives to be appointed as the Prime Minister of Nepal according to the Article 76(5) of the Constitution by 5 pm on May 21, 2021. This step was taken as the cabinet of the Right Honourable Prime Minister Mr. K. P. Sharma Oli, who was appointed Prime Minister as the leader of the largest Parliamentary party as per the Article 76(3) on May 13, 2021, recommended to initiate the process of the formation of the alternative government as per the Article 76 (5) of the Constitution on May 20, 2021 as there was no credible political evidence of him obtaining vote of confidence of the House of the Representatives as per Article 76(4) of the Constitution of Nepal, no change in the ground reality since May 10, 2021 and it was not sensible to put the nation in indecisive state.
